Hounds and Hiking is written by Aaryn and her three hounds: Oliver (Chihuahua), Juno (Italian Greyhound), and Marsanne (Whippet).
Aaryn’s background is in Education. She works in the for-social-profit sector in both community education and communications. On behalf of the organizations she has worked for, Aaryn’s writing has appeared in several local newspapers and online columns, as well as Okanagan Family Magazine and Mint Magazine (Kelowna).
Aaryn also owns Sitehound, a small business offering website and graphic design, content creation, and more, only for canine enthusiasts (clubs, trainers, groomers, kennels, etc.).
Hounds and Hiking is a blog about adventures with dogs. Any fun activities you can do with your dog may be covered here (particularly canine sports) as well as brags, opinions, photography, and journaling.
Hounds and Hiking should never replace the advice of your veterinarian, professional trainer, or best judgement. Additionally, always use discretion when hiking, encountering wildlife, and competing in sports with your dogs. All photos of wildlife were taken from a safe distance without aggravating the animal(s).
Guest authors are welcome for blogs on hiking, fitness, other outdoor activities, wildlife, specific breeds of dogs, dog sports, training, and more. Send Aaryn an email if you would like to submit an article.
Want to advertise or submit a product for review? Send an email and Aaryn will get back to you. Please note that applications will be approved on a case by case basis. Aaryn will not promote any products that she would not herself use.
